Mrs. Leila "Ruth" Rhodes, 91, of Clermont, Florida passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at the home of her daughter.  She was a member of the Gant Lake Baptist Church and the Gant Lake Ladies Auxilliary in Webster, Florida.  Ruth enjoyed sewing, crafting, spending time in her flower garden and fishing.  She loved children and treated them all like family.  Mrs. Rhodes retired from Sparton Electronics, but most of all she enjoyed being a caregiver for children.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Ann Scruggs of Newport, Tennessee; Gail and Jimmy Lee of Clermont, Florida; Alan Rhodes of Webster, Florida; Tim and Misty Rhodes of Webster, Florida; grandchildren: Tina, Jimmy, Karen, Mandy, Shawn, Justin, Audrey, Erin, Amber, Kristen, Ashley and Tyler; 20 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Yvonne and Bill Nix of Lakeland, Georgia.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Rhodes; a son, John "Danny" Rhodes; and her parents, Melgom and Ona Thompson Murray.

A private service was held Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Gant Lake Baptist Church in Webster, Florida.  A graveside service was held Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Brushy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Sparks, Georgia with Rev. Jerry Riggs officiating. Pallbearers were Shawn, Josh, Lawton, Tyler, Justin and Jimmy. Special selections played were "Come and Dine", "In The Garden" and "Beulah Land."
