Mr. Leon Perry Weeks, 88, of Sparks, Georgia, passed away December 30, 2015 at Cook Senior Living Center in Adel. He was born July 27, 1927 in Cook County to the late John William and Hattie Mae Harris Weeks. He was a lifelong resident of Cook County where he worked for Talley Corbett Box Company and attended Maranatha Baptist Church. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.

Mr. Weeks is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lillian Weeks of Lehigh Acres, Florida; two grandchildren: Rikki Weeks and Robert (Christie) Stowell; six great-grandchildren: Tori Stowell, Chase Stowell, Hannah Mobly, Payton Stowell, Blake Stowell and Brody Stowell; a sister, Laries Browning of Adel; and two sisters-in-law: Jane Sapp of Norman Park, Georgia and Virginia Weeks of Adel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Jane Lane Weeks and three brothers: Lessie Weeks, Levis Weeks and Ellis Weeks.

A graveside funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday January 2, 2016 at Antioch Church Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Baldree officiating. The family received friends before the service from 9:00 until 10:30 AM at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel. Ernest Browning, Steve Weeks, David Weeks, Jake Weeks Ethridge Bennett, Jr. and Jake McMillan served as pallbearers.
