Mr. Leonard G. Lindsey, Jr., 91 of Adel, Georgia passed away January 17, 2020 at the Legacy Village in Moultrie, Georgia. He was born April 10, 1928 in Colquitt County to the late Leonard G. Lindsey, Sr. and Opal Harrison Lindsey. Mr. Lindsey lived most of his life in Cook County and was the retired owner of Lindsey Plumbing and Electric. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Adel and served in the United States Navy at the end of WWII.
Mr. Lindsey is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marjie Bjordal Lindsey, of Adel; five children and their spouses; Jeannie and Mike Mills of Harrisburg, North Carolina; Alice and Anthony Judge, Carolyn and Howard McClain all of Adel; Gordon and Vicki Lindsey of Gray, Georgia; Andy and Rhonda Lindsey of Milledgeville, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Gandy and Frances Weeks, and two grandsons.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 20, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Adel with Dr. Mike Ruffin officiating. Interment followed at the Leila United Methodist Church Cemetery in Colquitt County. Visitation was held at First Baptist Church in Adel one hour prior to the service. Michael Felts, Sandy Barton, Greg Mills, Russ Brown, Jessie Shiflett and Charlie Shiflett served as pallbearers. Sheila Humber served as pianist and Mary Sue Ward sang "It Is Well With My Soul."
