Mrs. Linda Taylor Cowart, 82, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on June 9, 2026 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia. Mrs. Cowart was born on April 3, 1944 in Hahira, Georgia to the late General Jackson Taylor, Jr. and the late Nell McEachern Taylor. She lived most of her life in Adel and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Adel. Mrs. Cowart was a Registered Nurse, licensed in Florida and Georgia, and was retired from Southwestern State Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia.
She led a very active life outside of her nursing career. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Georgia Historical Society and a past member of the Huxford Genealogical Society and National Rifle Association. She has been a supporter of the American Red Cross, National Geographic Society, the Audubon Society, the Georgia Sheriffs' Association, and numerous ministries and societies that serve children like Boys Town. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, researching the genealogy of her family, gardening, birdwatching, and fishing. But above all, her daughter and grandchildren were beloved and the center of her world.
Mrs. Cowart is survived by her daughter, Marnie Reynolds of Columbus, Georgia, and three grandchildren: Taylor Wyatt Reynolds of New Haven, Connecticut; Elizabeth Anne Reynolds of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Benjamin Daniel Reynolds and Micaela Reynolds of Charlotte, North Carolina. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, G. Jackson Taylor III, and one sister, Vickie Hayes.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel with Pastor David L. Cummings officiating. Interment to follow.
