Mrs. Lois H. Griffin, 91, of Sparks, Georgia, passed away at her granddaughter's home in Adel on April 7, 2019. She was born on November 16, 1927 in Tifton, Georgia but lived most of her life in Cook County. Her parents were the late Joshua Cornelius Harris and Ivey Ida Sorrell Harris. She was a homemaker and member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by her two sons and a daughter-in-law: Earcle Griffin of Sparks, Calvin and Ann Griffin of Adel; one daughter, Pattie Sue Parker of Summerfield, Florida; twelve grandchildren and their spouses: Angie and Ron Allen of Adel, Ramona Griffin of Sparks, Dustin Griffin of Nashville, Georgia, Lynn and Jody Addison of Adel, Lee and Mandy Griffin of Adel, Mitchell Griffin of Sparks, Timothy Griffin of Sparks, Jonathan Griffin of Sparks, Leachia and Pete Jones of Summerfield, Tony and Nicole Fender of Pinellas Park, Florida, Lindsey Thomason of Adel and Aleta Resnick of Adel; 22 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Gladys Pruitt of Waycross, Georgia and Ethel Avera of Clearwater, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Lee Griffin; a son, Steve Griffin; one brother and five sisters.
The family received visitors from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at Boone Funeral Home South, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel. The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Ike Jefferson and Rev. Don Williams officiating. Interment followed at Antioch Church Cemetery. Jack and Bettye Joiner sang "I Want to Stroll Over Heaven with You," "Broken Pieces" and "Amazing Grace;" Mrs. Joiner also played piano. Lance Carter, Dylan Griffin, Dakota Griffin, Austin Rogers, Phillip Rogers and Clay Griffin served as pallbearers.
