Mrs. Louise Godwin Giddens, age 94, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on January 3, 2026 at the Southwell Health and Rehabilitation Center in Adel.  She was born in Adel on January 11, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Edward Leon Godwin and the late Fannie Bell Howell Godwin.  Mrs. Giddens was a homemaker and a member of Massee Baptist Church.

Mrs. Giddens is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Shirley and Bill Jacobs of Lake City, Florida, Judy and Dixon Sinclair of Adel, Dona and Larry Harrell of Adel, Diane and David Grinstead of Macon, Georgia; twelve grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Lynn Godwin of San Antonio, Texas; and four sisters: Bobbie Carlton of Florida, Frances Walker of Mt. Vernon, Georgia, Mary Weeks of Ellenton, Georgia, and Martha Woody of Nashville, Georgia.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Giddens was preceded in death by her husband, J.O. "Joe" Giddens; her son, Franklin Giddens; a daughter, Dale Herndon; two brothers, Foster Godwin and Junior Godwin; and her very special best friend, Merle Griffin.

Funeral services for Mrs. Giddens will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Massee Baptist Church with Rev. Philip Badley and Mr. Ed Godwin officiating.  Interment will follow at Brushy Creek Church Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.  Christopher May, Kenneth May, Ricky Harrell, Malone Harrell, Keith Giddens and Ian Giddens will serve as active pallbearers while the deacons and elders of Massee Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.  "I Want Us To Be Together in Heaven,' "I Call It Home" and "Amazing Grace" will be played at the service.  Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the service.
