Mrs. Louise Cooper Putnal, 96, of Adel, Georgia passed away June 9, 2016 at her home. She was born on February 4, 1920 in Lanier County to her late parents, Moses Bartow Cooper and Rachel Isabella Carter Cooper Rose. She has been a resident of Cook County for about 30 years where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Adel. She served her community as a former teacher, librarian and civil service employee and served her family as a homemaker, military wife, and loving mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Putnal is survived by her son, Eugene "Gene" Putnal of Adel; a grandson, Eric Putnal of Palm Bay, Florida; and a sister-in-law, Laverne Putnal of Tifton, Georgia. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Leston L. Putnal; two brothers, James Phillip Cooper and Howard Cooper; and a sister, Mildred C. Cowart.

A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Putnal took place Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens (8879 Val-Del Road in Adel) with Rev. Bill Marlette officiating. The family received friends Friday evening, June 10, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Boone Funeral Home (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel).
