Mrs. Marcia L. Duren, 80, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie, Georgia.  She was born on July 3, 1937 in Adel to Ellis Booth Lastinger and Mattie Allen Lastinger.  She lived most of her life in Cook County where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Adel, the Pilot Club of Adel and was a retired medical technician supervisor for Cook Medical Center in Adel.

Mrs. Duren is survived by her husband, Carl Duren, Jr. of Adel; a son and daughter-in-law, Trey and Mary Duren of Littleton, Colorado; a daughter and son-in-law, Anna Barbara and Doug Hanks of Adel; four grandchildren: Camie and Dave Hawal of Littleton, CO, Benjamin Duren of Ft. Collins, CO, Brittany and Gary Rowan of Adel, and Dylan Hanks of Adel; two great-grandchildren: Lawton Gary Rowan and Nora Rose Rowan of Adel; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Beverly and Ed Garden of Adel; a nephew, Thomas Garden; a niece and her husband, Jean and Dennis Atcheson; and another nephew, Johnny Lastinger.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Tom Lastinger.

The family received friends Monday evening February 26, 2018 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home South, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel.  The funeral service was held Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 11 AM at First Baptist Church of Adel with Dr. Mike Ruffin and Rev. Bill Marlette officiating.  Interment followed at Woodlawn City Cemetery.  Sheila Humber played "Amazing Grace" on piano and Steve Meders sang "To God Be the Glory" and "Beulah Land."  Thomas Garden, Dylan Janks, Benjamin Duren, Dennis Atcheson, Gary Rowan, Kelly Penn and Dave Hawal served as active pallbearers and the Pilot Club of Adel served as honorary pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Mrs. Duren to the Georgia Sheriffs' Boys Ranch (5671 Boys Ranch Rd., Hahira, GA 31632 or boysranch@georgiasheriffs.org).  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com .
