Mrs. Marilyn Tyson Giddens, age 90, of Sparks, Georgia, passed away at her home on March 14, 2026. She was born in Cook County on May 27, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Roy and Gertrude G. Tyson. Mrs. Giddens lived in Miami for many years before returning to Cook County in 1997. In Florida she worked as a controller SFADA Tag Agency before she retired. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Adel.
Mrs. Giddens is survived by her children: daughter, Janet Meders of Sparks, son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and April Giddens of Austin, Texas, daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Toney Fulp of Hahira, Georgia; grandchildren: Tai and Ronnie Weeks of Sparks, Tate and Marki Meders of Adel, Shaye and Michael Kohler of Clovis, New Mexico, Henry Giddens of Austin, Texas, Teara and Chris Powell of Hahira, Jori and Jon Thompson of Lenox, Troy Williams of Hahira, Angi McClain of Hahira, Tonya and Bryan Gregory of Adel and Joni Crocker of Adel; great-grandchildren: Cohen Weeks, Cailee Weeks, Louleigh Meders, Henry Meders, Renna Meders, Rubi Meders, Adelyn Kohler, Ander Kohler, Terri Powell, Maebry Powell, Charlee Powell, Raylan Thompson, Quinn Thompson, Ivy Thompson, Stella McClain, Lucy McClain, Milly McClain, Kennedy and Cole Elliott, Maggie Gregory, Addi Gregory, Sophie Staton, and Laila Fulp; and great-great-grandchild, Wiley Elliott. In Addition to her parents, Mrs. Giddens was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Giddens; her sons-in-law, Terry Williams and Steven Meders; and her siblings: Norman Tyson, Leroy Tyson, J.W. Tyson, Lucille Sumner, Eula B. Shealey and S.J. Tyson.
The funeral service for Mrs. Giddens will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel) with Rev. Johnny Hendley officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will take place at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM on the day of the service. "Home Where I Belong" and "It I Well" will be played at the funeral. Tate Meders, Troy Williams, Michael Kohler, Jon Thompson, Chris Powell, Raylan Thompson, Henry Meders, Ronnie Weeks, Cohen Weeks and Bryan Gregory will serve as pallbearers.
