Mrs. Marjie Lindsey, 91, of Adel, Georgia passed away on September 10, 2021 at her residence. She was born on August 10, 1930 in South Dakota to the late Hans Ander Bjordal and Elvira Bervin Bjordal. Mrs. Lindsey has lived in Cook County for the past 70 years and was a homemaker, school teacher and artist. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Adel. Mrs. Lindsey was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Leonard G. Lindsey, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Jeannie and Mike Mills of Harrisburg, North Carolina, Alice and Anthony Judge of Adel, Carolyn and Howard McClain of Adel, Gordon and Vicki Lindsey of Gray, Georgia, and Andy and Rhonda Lindsey of Milledgeville, Georgia; 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; her brother, Ben Bjordal of Centerville, South Dakota and her sister, Helen Miller of Birmingham, Alabama.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Adel with Dr. Mike Ruffin and Rev. Dr. Neal Sweet officiating. Interment followed at the Leila United Methodist Church Cemetery in Colquitt County. Michael Felts, Greg Mills, Jessie Shiflett, Will Felts, Scott Bjordal and Aaron Felts served as pallbearers. Sheila Humber played piano for the service and provided accompaniment to Dr. Mary Sue Ward who sang "Whispering Hope." The family received friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Adel (200 E. Fifth Street, Adel, Georgia 31620) or to the Cook County Educational Foundation (1109 N. Parrish Ave., Adel, Georgia 31620).
