Mrs. Marjorie Boone Phelps, 90 of Lenox, Georgia passed away December 7, 2015 at the Tift Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. She was born March 26, 1925 in Berrien County to the late Howard and Fannie Ethel Pittman Tyson. She lived most of her life in Cook County. Mrs. Phelps was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church. She was a retired nurse from the Adel Memorial Hospital where she is most fondly remembered for her 32 years spent in the nursery.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law: Vernon and Freddie Phelps of Sparks, Georgia and Royce and Patsy Boone of Lenox; daughter and son-in-law, Lana and Danny Griffin of Lenox; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Sharon and David Waller of Valdosta, Georgia and Elaine Duncan of Yulee, Florida; a host of nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Leroy Boone, W.E. Connell and Roland Phelps; three brothers Ethridge Tyson, John "Pete" Tyson and Byron Tyson; four sisters: Lois Ollis, Lucille McLendon, Robbie Nell Webb and Pauline Folds.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening December 9, 2015 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel. The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 10, 2015 2:00 PM at Lakeview Baptist Church in Lenox, Georgia with Dr. Danny Ray, Rev. Dillard Ensley and Rev. Stanley Hendricks officiating.
