Mrs. Mary C. Bennett, 82, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away Sunday April 22, 2018 at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta, Georgia.  She was born on September 28, 1935 in Atkinson County to the late Harry and Verna Lee Hadsock Cuppett.  Mrs.  Bennett lived most of her life in Valdosta.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Adel and worked as a homemaker and a financial secretary for Hinton Oil of Albany, GA.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by her husband, Jimmy Bennett of Valdosta; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Terry and Sherry Bennett of Valdosta, Allen Bennett of Lakeland, GA; a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Van Buchanan of Albany; five grandchildren:  Wil and Sofia Buchanan of Providence, RI, Wesley Buchanan and his girlfriend, Sarah Haynes, both of Marietta, GA, Hannah and Jason Stigall of Atlanta, Jud Bennett of Athens, and Ashlee Bennett of Lakeland, GA; two great-grandchildren: Cort Littleton of Lakeland and Magdalena Buchanan of Providence, RI; two brothers: Sonny Cuppett of Lake City, FL and Wayne Cuppett of Pearson, GA; and three sisters: Evelyn Hester of Byron, GA, Elizabeth Drake of Nashville, GA and Sue Hadsock of Valdosta.   She was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Hughes and a brother, Harry Cuppett.

The family received friends Wednesday April 25, 2018 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home South, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel.  The funeral service was held Thursday April 26, 2018 at 11 AM in the Chapel Of Boone Funeral Home with Elder Thad Marshall officiating and eulogies provided by the grandchildren of Mrs. Bennett.  Interment followed at Friendship Church Cemetery in Hahira, Georgia.  Wayne and Mary Nell Boyette sang "Beulah Land" and "How great Thou Art;" Mrs. Boyette also played the piano and Mr. Boyette led the congregation in the singing of "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder."  Wil Buchanan, Wes Buchanan, Jud Bennett, Jason Stigall, Wayne Ricks and James Duggan served as pallbearers.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Langdale Hospice House, 2263 Pineview Dr., Valdosta, GA 31602.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com.
