Mrs. Mary Belle Crosby, 95, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on May 3, 2020 at the Berrien Nursing Center in Nashville, Georgia. She was born in Berrien County on February 21, 1925 to the late Alva Lee and Lou Annie Carter Montgomery. Mrs. Crosby lived most of her life in Valdosta and was retired from Levi Strauss and Company. She was a member of the Hahira Church of God.
Mrs. Crosby is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Sue Crosby; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Jimmy Folsom all of Valdosta; four grandchildren and their spouses: Karen and Shane Taylor of Adel, Leah and Ashley Hill of Moultrie, Georgia, Amber and Kyle Parkinson of Panama City, Florida, Brandy and Jerome Howard of Navarre, Florida; and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Newell Crosby; one son, Terry Crosby; and three brothers: Lee Roy Montgomery, Willie Montgomery and Elwood Montgomery.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Adel, Georgia with Rev. Wayne Montgomery officiating. Interment followed. Jimmy Folsom sang "She's Not Crying Anymore" and Larry Warren played guitar and sang "I'll Meet You on the Other Side of Jordan;" another special music selection played at the service was "Go Rest High on that Mountain." Christopher Taylor, Shane Taylor, Wayne Montgomery, Tyrone McDaniel, Ashley Hill and Ricky Roberts served as pallbearers.
