Mrs. Mary Lou Duggan, 94, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on January 1, 2017 at Berrien Nursing Center in Nashville, Georgia. She was born on February 2, 1922 in Atkinson County to John and Maggie Hall Newmans. She lived most of her life in Lowndes and Cook Counties. She was a member of Springhead Methodist Church in Willacoochee and was a retired sales clerk for Belk's.

Mrs. Duggan is survived by her two daughters and a son-in-law: Susan and Joe Lewis of Adel and Linda Hatcher of Valdosta; five grandchildren: Frank, Gloria, Danny, Tony and Lora Lee; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Duggan, and a son, Carroll Duggan.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Springhead Methodist Church Cemetery in Willacoochee with Rev. Elvin East officiating.
