Mrs. Mary Lou Lehmann Pafford, 72, died Saturday January 28, 2017 at her residence. She was born February 25, 1944 in Helvetia, West Virginia to the late Louis Lehmann and Matilda Oshmann Lehmann. Mrs. Pafford was a retired teacher with Cook Middle School and a homemaker. In the past she served as the president of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary with Memorial Hospital of Adel and was an active member of Antioch United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Pafford is survived by her husband, Raymond Pafford of Adel; her children and their spouses: Sherry and Thomas Brown of Jacksonville, Florida, and Ray and Tara Pafford of Barney, Georgia; three grandchildren: Connor Brown, Alexandria Brown and Kate Pafford; her sister, Kathleen Bohnam of Oakland, Tennessee; and two close cousins: Shirley Bruno of Maryland and Gus Oshmann of California.
A memorial service for Mrs. Pafford was held Tuesday January 31, 2017 at 11 AM at Antioch United Methodist Church with Dr. Gary Brady officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. The congregation sang "I'll Fly Away", Ellen Wiggins sang a special tribute to Mrs. Pafford and Johnnie Lou Ellenberg played piano.
