Mrs. Mary Nix, 88, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away at her residence on January 29, 2022.  Mrs. Nix was born July 4, 1933  in Adel, Georgia to the late J Frank Wilkes and Melvin Butler Wilkes.  She grew up in Sparks, Georgia, then moved in Nashville, Georgia and resided the past 45 years in Valdosta.  Mrs. Nix was the owner and operator of the Herbal Connection in Lake Park, Georgia.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Nix is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Rick and Marcy Nix of Pavo, Georgia; Randy and Von Nix of Magnolia Springs, Alabama; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Andy Smith of Wrightsville, Georgia; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Rountree Cemetery at Evergreen Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Hendley officiating. Interment followed.  Rick Nix, Randy Nix, Andy Smith, Kealon Nix and Walter McDaniel served as pallbearers.  "Amazing Grace" and "There's Something About That Name" were the musical selections played at the service.
