Mrs. Mary Brady Odom, 85, of Adel, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at her daughter's home following a brief illness. Mrs. Odom was born on February 22, 1940, in Cecil, Georgia, to the late Robert C. "R.C." Brady and Ruth Livingston Brady. Mrs. Odom lived all of her life in Cook County and was a Christian believer. She retired from the Adel Memorial Hospital where she was a dietician and worked previously at The Shirt Factory, Nashville Textile and The Catfish House.
Mrs. Odom is survived by her devoted sons and daughter, Sonny Odom of Orlando, Florida, Bonnie Vining of Adel and "Son of Love", Jeff Vining, Sr. of Adel; three grandchildren: Jeff Vining II and Tori of Sheldon, Vermont, Brandy and Scott Sanders of Douglas, Georgia, Cody Vining and Candice of Valdosta, Georgia; seven great grandchildren: Chloe Vining, Brooke Sanders and Lydia Sanders, all of Douglas, Emily Vining, Gracie Vining, Jeff "Bo" Vining and Wyatt Vining, all of Sheldon, Vermont; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Sherry Brady of Nashville, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Carolyn Brady; and her baby sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Bobby Garvitte.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with eulogies being given by Sonny Odom and Bonnie Vining. Interment will follow at the Sparks City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. (South US Hwy. 41). Casey Croft, Steven Croft, Gondra Crumbley, Timmy Crumbley, Roscoe Patterson and Diego Sebastian will serve as pallbearers. "The Anchor Holds," "Mother" and "I'll Fly Away" will be played at the service and "Amazing Grace" will be played at the graveside.
