Mrs. Michelle Lee Jewell Dowdy, 47, of Nashville, Georgia passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 14, 2018. She was born in Tifton, Georgia on November 18, 1970. She lived in many locations growing up as a member of a military family but resided most of her adult life in Berrien County. Mrs. Dowdy was a member of Hope Baptist Church and formerly worked as an educator with the Georgia Headstart Program and also was a teacher with the Nashville United Methodist Church Preschool.
Mrs. Dowdy is survived by her loving husband, Tim Dowdy; three daughters: Carmen, Allyson and Amber Dowdy; two grandchildren: Trenton Douglas and Brayden Pittman; her parents, Grady Jewell, Sr. and Carol Mae Viens Jewell; and a brother, Kelvin Bobby Jewell; all of Nashville. A host of nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Michael Grady Jewell, and another brother, Grady Jewell, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Hope Baptist Church in Nashville with Rev. Richard McNair, Rev. Robbie Rowe, Rev. Ray Calvin and Rev. Steve Pickern officiating. Autumn Martin and Debbie Tyson will sing and Alice Pickern will play piano.
