Mrs. Montez "Susie" Fausett, 99, of Adel, Georgia passed away March 27, 2018 at the Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta, Georgia.  She was born on August 9, 1918 in Hahira, Georgia to the late Walter "Bird" Hall and Rilla Hodges Hall.  Mrs. Fausett lived most of her life in Cook and Lowndes Counties.  She was a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Adel and enjoyed gardening.   She was a well known for her daylily garden and was a  member of The Valdosta Daylily Society.  She was the widow of the late James Fulton "J.F." Fausett and her first husband, J. B. Cowart.

Mrs. Fausett is survived by two daughters: Joyce Calvert of Spartanburg, South Carolina and Faye Culpepper of Valdosta; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Fausett of Palmetto, Georgia; nine grandchildren and their spouses: Ricky and Janet Register, Vicky Hayes, Dawn and Kenny Draffen, Judy and Matt Cox, Jeff and Sandra Culpepper, Lori and Dick Campbell, Walter and Kristie Cowart, Joe Cowart, and Phillip and Megan Cowart; three step-grandchildren: Thomas Allen Fausett, Susan Kecy and Buddy Fausett; 22 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Audrey McNeal of Hahira; and a niece, Louise Williams of Hahira.  In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lucille Register; a son, Carroll Cowart; two step-sons: Pee Wee Fausett and Butch Fausett; a grandson, Jon Calvert; two sons-in-law: Jerome Register and Tom Culpepper; two sisters: Merrilene Martin and Margie Goodyear; and a brother, Julian Hall.

The funeral services for Mrs. Fausett were held Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home South (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel) with Rev. Chad Payne and Rev. Jimmy Jones officiating.  The family received friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the service.  Interment took place at Friendship Church Cemetery in Hahira immediately following the service.  Brooke Franks played guitar and sang "It Is Well With My Soul" and "In the Garden;" "Beulah Land" was also played during the service.
