Mrs. Nancy Moore, 80, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on June 3, 2025 at The Canopy at Azalea Grove in Valdosta, Georgia. She was born on September 6, 1944 in Montezuma, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Roy Lacy "R.L." Brand and the late Margaret Greene Brand. Mrs. Moore lived most of her life in Cook County and was a member of the Adel Wesleyan Church where she coordinated the Kids Ministry for many years. She was retired from the Cook County Board of Education where she taught the fifth grade. She devoted more than thirty years in education.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Keith Walden of Adel; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Roy and Pete Moore, Jamie and Leigh Moore, all of Adel; six grandchildren: Seth Walden of Orlando, Florida, Taylor Walden of Atlanta, Georgia, Noah Moore and his fiancée, Mandy Barnes of Adel, Brice Moore and his fiancée, Hannah Morris of Adel, Jayley Moore of Adel and Beau Moore of Adel; three sisters and one brother-in-law: Ellen Smith of Commerce, Georgia, Joan and Ed Leichner of Shelbyville, Tennessee, and Rose Farrell of Social Circle, Georgia; and one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Lawana Moore of Leesburg, Georgia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Milton "Jimmy" Moore, Jr. The family especially wants to thank the caregivers of The Canopy at Azalea Grove and Bethany Hospice.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the Adel Wesleyan Church with Rev. Doug Tolson officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Seth Walden, Taylor Walden, Noah Moore, Brice Moore, Jayley Moore and Beau Moore served as pallbearers. The Adel Wesleyan Church Choir sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Sweet, Sweet Spirit" at the service. Visitation was held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Boone Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Adel Wesleyan Church Children's Ministry; 214 S. Hutchinson Ave, Adel, Georgia 31620.
