Obituary

Mr. O. P. "Butch" Fausett, Jr., 78 of Adel, Georgia passed away at his residence December 29, 2018.  Mr. Fausett was born November 23, 1940 at Carey, Georgia to the Late Ottis Preston Fausett, Sr. and Nova Larue Horne Fausett.  He lived most of his life in Cook County and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Adel.  Mr. Fausett was retired from Fausetts, Inc. and was in his nineteenth year of serving on the Adel City Council.  He had also served in the Army National Guard.

Mr. Fausett is survived by his wife, Linda Braswell Fausett of Adel; two sons and daughters-in-law; O.P. "Trey" Fausett, III and his wife Suzanne of Cherry Lake, Florida, Phil and Michelle Fausett of Adel; two grandchildren: Brian Fausett of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Lydia and Jonathan McDaniel of Adel; six great-grandchildren: Landon, Marlee, Jackson and Meri Ruth McDaniel, Caroline and Clare Robertson; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Marsha Fausett; father-in-law, Dale Braswell; "Special Friend" Essie Banks and his dear companion dog, DeDe Fausett, all of Adel; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Eleanor Logan Fausett.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM, January 1, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Adel with Rev. Doug Stevens officiating and a eulogy given by O. P. "Trey" Fausett, III.  Visitation was held prior to the time of service at the church from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.  Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers were Brian Fausett, Thomas Fausett, Gabe Mathis, Guy Mathis, Ricky Young and Jerry Permenter. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Adel City Council, John Flythe, Buddy Duke and also members of Mr. Fausett's Sunday school class.  Tim Fausett sang "How Great Thou Art", Dr. Tom Fausett played "It Is Well" and "The Battle Hymn of The Republic" on piano.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Grace Presbyterian Church at 688 N. Washington Ave.; P.O. Box 76, Madison, Florida 32340; Disaster Relief Fund.
