Mr. P H Watson, 78, of Sparks, Georgia passed away at his residence July 24, 2015. He was born in Cook County March 14, 1937 to the late Robert E. Lee Watson and Derene Wiley Watson. Mr. Watson lived most of his life in Cook County and was a member at the Lakeview Baptist Church. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a Master Mason and member of Adel Lodge #310 of Free and Accepted Masons where he had served as Worshipful Master. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mrs. Eleanor Rowan Watson December 3, 2014.
Mr. Watson is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Paul Watson, Robert and Elizabeth Watson, all of Valdosta, Georgia; four grandsons: Andrew Watson of Valdosta; Matthew J. Watson of Pennsylvania; Perry Watson of Atlanta, Georgia and Clay Watson of Sparks; his sister, Laura Clements also of Sparks along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Mr. Watson was also preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Kay Watson; a brother, Robert Olin Watson; and a sister, Martha Nell Noles.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Lakeview Baptist Church with Rev. Dillard Ensley officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites. "The Old Rugged Cross" was played at the service by Susie Betts on the piano and a special selection, "A Beautiful Life" was played at the conclusion of the service. T.J. Williams, Dale Clements, Keith Giddens, Andrew Watson, Lee Rowan, and David Stafford served as pallbearers. Visitation was held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, July 27, 2015 at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave.; Adel, Georgia.
