Mrs. Patricia "Pat" Smith, 73, of Sparks, Georgia passed away on June 18, 2026 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia. She was born on May 16, 1953 at Lumber City, Georgia. She has lived in Cook County for the past 41 years and was a member of Gordon Avenue Baptist Church in Adel. Mrs. Smith was a retired supervisor with Nashville Mills.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her two daughters: Jenny Smith (Nathan Taylor) and Brittany Smith (T.J. Smith); six grandchildren: Jenny Taylor, Nicole Taylor, Brayden Smith, Jayden Smith, Payden Smith and Kayden Smith, all of Sparks. Mrs. Smith also had a special cousin, Buddy Pittman of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale Eugene Norton, Jr. and Doris Logue Norton, one daughter, Ethel Marie Bennett.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 22, 2026 at the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave.in Adel) with Rev. Johnny Hendley officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Jenny Taylor, Nicole Taylor, Brayden Smith, Jayden Smith, Payden Smith, Kayden Smith, Nathan Taylor, Tony Addison and Aaron Napier will serve as pallbearers. Kelsey Stone will sing "Goodness of God" at the service; other music selections for the service will include "Because He Lives," "I Hope You Dance," "Heaven Took You Too Early," "Because You Loved Me," "Have a Little Talk with Jesus" and ""Go Rest High on that Mountain."
The family will be making headquarters at Mrs. Smith's home at 301 Springhill Road; Sparks, Georgia. Condolences may be expressed online at www.boonefunerals.com . Boone Funeral Home, Inc. of Adel, Georgia is serving the Smith family.
