Mr. Phil Brannon, Sr., 73, of Sparks, Georgia, passed away on January 27, 2021, at Emory St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born on June 25, 1947, to the late John Brannon and Margaret Faye Postell Brannon Westra. Mr. Brannon lived all of his life in Cook County and was retired From Sierra Pine in Adel, Georgia. He was a member of the Sparks United Methodist Church and had served in the Army National Guard.
Mr. Brannon is survived by his wife, Sharon Williams Brannon of Sparks; two sons: Phillip Brannon, Jr. of Adel and Nicholas Brannon of Sparks; four daughters and a son-in-law: Angela Brannon of Lakeland, Georgia, Christi Brannon, Candi and Bo Rountree, Carrie Brannon and her significant other, Brian Williams, all of Adel; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Josh and Nicole Warren of Adel; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Ashlee and Lee Bullard of Chula, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren: Shelby Williams, Jacob Williams, Christopher Williams, Ashlee Bullard, J.T. Bullard, Hunter Bullard, Zoe Bullard, Kaeli Rountree, Tucker Rountree, Isaiah Rountree, Emily Warren, Bailey Warren, Autumn Brannon and Summer Brannon; and one brother, Mike Brannon, Sr. of Adel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley Brannon and Robert Lamar Brannon; and one grandson, Dayton Williams.
A graveside service was held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at the Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel with Rev. Mike Brannon officiating. Interment followed. Visitation was conducted from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at Boone Funeral Home prior to the service. Lorin Pezent played guitar and sang "Amazing Grace;" other special songs played at the service included "Desperado" and "Rose Colored Glasses." Nicholas Brannon, Bo Rountree, Brian stone, Zach Rentz, Chip Dixon and Edward Allen served as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers included Jerry Kretlow, Wilbur Covington, Lamar Harris, Lamar Ellis, Timmy Guthrie, Jerry Cook, James Taylor, Ted Kelly and Lawrence Willis.
