Mr. Ray W. Reed, 83 of St. Marys, Georgia, passed away April 22, 2018 at the Regency Hospital in Macon, Georgia.  Mr. Reed was born September 5, 1934 in Cook County to the late Dock and Etta Belle Webb Reed Terry.  He lived most of his life in Jacksonville, Florida retiring from Owens-Illinois Glass Company.  He was of the Baptist faith, a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and a 50 year member of the Masonic Grand Lodge #408 of Florida.

Mr. Reed is survived by one son, Don Reed of St. Marys; two grandchildren, Amanda Reed of St. Marys and Kim Villarreal of Virginia; 2 sisters: Melba Bowen of Danville, Georgia and Carolyn Novitisky of Jacksonville, Florida; also numerous nieces and nephews; and his Special Friend, Alice Oberlin of St. Marys.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Belinda R. Sorkness and one grandson, Jacoby Sorkness.

Funeral services were held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home South. Visitation was held at the funeral home one hour before time of service.  Rev. Johnny Hendley officiated and interment followed at the Spring Hill Church Cemetery in Cook County.  Special musical selection played at the service were: "How Great Thou Art," "Just One Rose Will Do" and "I Can Only Imagine."  Brett Bowen, Casey Bowen, Reed Smith, Teddy Bowen, Johnny Bowen and Gregory Bowen served as pallbearers.
