Mr. Robert "Bobby" Sexton, 84, of Adel, Georgia, passed away at his home on March 10, 2019.  He was born in Gaylesville, Alabama on August 30, 1934.  Mr. Sexton's parents were the late Ed and Leila Buford Holcomb Sexton.  He lived most of his life in Georgia and in Cook County for the last 40 years where he was a retired farmer and a Baptist.

Mr. Sexton is survived by his wife, Katie Kearce Sexton of Adel; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Tracey Sexton of Nashville, Georgia; four daughters and sons-in-law: Tammy and Travis Flowers of Adel, Patricia and Arie Monk of Nashville, Donna and Riley Rutherford of Adel, Stacey and Shane Purdue of Rome, Georgia; Dewayne Coleman of Rome, Wesley Coleman of Beaumont, Texas, and Mac Junior Woods of North Carolina; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers: Joe Sexton of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, Jim Sexton of Kentucky and Hugh Don Sexton of Adel.  He was preceded in death by four brothers: Johnny Sexton, Richard Sexton, Albert Lee Sexton and Doc Sexton; and two sisters: Eloise Brewster and Jean Matthews.

Mr. Sexton's family received friends on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel.  The funeral service took place at 2 PM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, with Rev. Marty McCranie and Rev. Conway Harris officiating.  Interment followed at Weeks Chapel Cemetery in Colquitt County.  "Rough Side of the Mountain," "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art" were played at the service.  Kasey Flowers, Lee Henshaw, Jeffrey Monk, Chris Folsom, Jeffrey Sexton, Terry Sexton and Jack Sexton served as pallbearers.  Condolences may be expressed to the Sexton family online at www.boonefunerals.com .
