Mr. Robert F. Young, 76 of Adel, Georgia passed away November 25, 2015 at the Tift Regional Medical Center after a long illness. Mr. Young was born March 27, 1939 in Cook county to the late Hugh Dorsey Young, Sr. and Nancy Odessa Ivey Young. He had lived in Atlanta, Georgia and Florida before moving back to Cook county 17 years ago. Mr. Young was a member of the Gordon Ave. Baptist Church was a retired licensed general contractor with Oriole Homes of Florida. He served in the United States Army.

Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Roma Jo Bennett Young of Adel; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Devin Young of Adel; Corey and Sylvia Young of Newton, N.C.; three grandchildren: Sage and Todd Bennett of Adel; Wendy and Captain Josh Smith of Swansboro, N.C. and Joseph Edmondson of Newton, N.C.; three great grandchildren: Rachel Bennett and Candace Bennett of Adel and Harrison Pruitt Smith of Swansboro, N.C.; one brother and sister-in-law: Hugh, Jr. and Donna Young of Warner Robins, Georgia; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Linda and James "Jim" Schliestett of Rome, Georgia and Peggy Henn of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave.; Adel, Georgia. Visitation will be held the day of the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Boone Funeral Home. His cremains will be placed at Crossroads Cemetery.
