Retired Senior Master Sergeant Roland S. O'Neill, 90, of Adel, Georgia passed away on June 6, 2022 at his residence.  SMSGT O'Neill was born December 29, 1931 in Athens, New York to the late William Dennis O'Neill and Mary Elizabeth Holmes O'Neill.  He retired from the United States Air Force after serving over 27 years and 9 months.  He lived in Panama City, Florida after retiring and then moved to Adel 9 years ago.  He was of the Primitive Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his wife, Bettie Bradford O'Neill of Adel; three sisters-in-law: Iris Thomas and Doris Smith, both of Adel, and Betty Maloney of Hahira; nephews and nieces: Ricky and Tammy Stalvey, Dale and David Teets, all of Adel, Cydney and Trooper Teipel of Macon, Georgia, Jill and Ray Sistino of Western Springs, Illinois, Louie Maloney of Valdosta, Georgia and Tonya Hill of Gastonia, North Carolina; numerous great nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service with military honors was held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Friendship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Hahira, Georgia with Elder Thad Marshall officiating.  Interment followed.  "Silver Wings" was played at the service.
