Mr. Ronald Castleberry, age 64, of Fort Valley, Georgia, formerly of Adel, Georgia, passed away on January 6, 2025 at his residence. He was born on May 30, 1960 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late James Edward Castleberry and Ethel McCall Giddens. Mr. Castleberry lived in Valdosta, Georgia for over 30 years and several years in Cook County before moving to Fort Valley a year ago. He was a retired truck driver with Tifton Waste Management and he was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Castleberry also served honorably in the United States Army.
Mr. Castleberry is survived by his wife, Tammy Ann Castleberry of Fort Valley; two sons and daughters-in-law: Jason and Emily Castleberry of Hahira, Georgia and Justin and Ashlyn Castleberry of Macon, Georgia; five grandchildren: Dunlie Castleberry, of Ellaville, Georgia, Sayler Castleberry and Aiden Tillman both of Hahira, Rhett Castleberry and Cameron Castleberry both of Macon; his mother, Ethel McCall Giddens of Blythe, California; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Roy "R.T." and Judy Castleberry of Nashville, Georgia, Ricky and Jerri Lynn Castleberry of Blythe, California, Rodney and Maria Castleberry of Enterprise, Alabama; one sister, Rhonda Castleberry of Belen, New Mexico; and mother-in-law, Becky Williams of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Castleberry and his father-in-law, Buddy Williams.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Roy "R.T." Castleberry officiating and Mr. Kevin Bradford providing the eulogy. Mr. Henry McGill played guitar and sang "I Can Only Imagine" and "Go Rest High On That Mountain". Visitation was conducted at Boone Funeral Home (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave.; Adel, Georgia) from 10:00 until 11:00 prior to the memorial service. Mr. Castleberry's request to be cremated will be honored following the service.
