Mr. Ronald T. Coleman, 85, of Adel, Georgia passed away on May 11, 2024 at the Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta, Georgia. Mr. Coleman was born on January 18, 1939 in Forest, Wisconsin to the late Gurvice Charles Coleman and the late Mayme Dee Newlun Coleman. While he was stationed at Moody Air Force Base he met Mary Clayton and they married. He never returned to Wisconsin. Mr. Coleman went to work at Moody Air Force Base where he was an electrical planner under the Civil Service and that is where he eventually retired. He lived the last 60 years in Cook County and was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church of Cook County.
Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife, Mary Clayton Coleman of Adel; three daughters and sons-in-law: Debi and Lamar Ellis of Adel, Rhonda and Ralph Gornto of Waverly, Georgia, Tammy and Mark Rigdon of Hahira, Georgia; six grandchildren: Clay and Hope Ellis of Vidalia, Georgia, Brittany and Jamey Betts of Moultrie, Georgia, Tiffany and Daniel Griffis, Shelby and Drew Wentworth, all of Brunswick, Georgia, Cole and Alex Rigdon of Hahira, Georgia, Brittany and Joe Brown of Valdosta; ten great grandchildren: Jaxson Ellis, Addison Ellis, Eli Scott and Ezra Scott, all of Vidalia, Colt, Tate and Brant Betts, all of Moultrie, Aubrey Wentworth of Brunswick, Lincoln Rigdon and Camerin Rigdon, both of Hahira; and one sister, Annette Martinez of San Pedro, California; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Coleman, and a sister, Anita Bacon.
A Celebration of Life was held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the Antioch Church with Rev. Jake Webster offering the closing prayer and Dr. Mike Ruffin officiating. Eulogies were given by Beth Rylee and Sharon Mosley. Ellen Wiggins sang "It Is Well With My Soul" and "I Can Only Imagine"; a special recorded selection of "Go Rest High On That Mountain" by Vince Gill was also played.
In keeping with Mr. Coleman's wishes he was cremated. Condolences maybe expressed online at www.boonefunerals.com . Boone Funeral Home, Inc. is serving the Coleman family.
