Mr. Roscoe Raburn Register, 65, of Adel, Georgia, passed away May 5, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia. He was born on January 30, 1952 in Adel, Georgia to the late Rossie Eston Register and Lillie Mae Davis Register. Mr. Register lived all of his life in Cook County where he was a member of Springhead Baptist Church, a Mason, and a retired contractor.
Mr. Register is survived by his wife, Debra Shiflett Register; a son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Shanya Register; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Ricky Sumner; four grandchildren: Ty Sumner and his fiancee' Sara Ray, Kylee and Tyler Raulerson, Nole Register and Ava Register; two great-grandchildren: Noa Jade Sumner and Kaden Raulerson; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ronnie and Linda Register and Roger Register, all of Adel; two sisters and brothers-in-law Dorothy R. and Glenn Walden of Valdosta and Tammy R. and Tony Marshall of Adel; two sisters-in-law: Laqueta Howze of Hahira, and Ann F. Register of Valdosta. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to his parents, Roscoe was preceded in death by a brother, Billy E. Register; his father-in-law, Cliff Shiflett and his mother-in-law, Monzelle DeMott Shiflett.
The funeral service for Mr. Register took place Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 5:00 PM at Springhead Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Taylor officiating. Entombment followed at the Community Mausoleum located at Woodlawn Cemetery Annex in Adel. Ty Sumner, Tyler Raulerson, Nole Register, Kaden Raulerson, Joe Register, Corey Mackie, Keith Howze, Cole Mackie and Chris Rogers served as active pallbearers; Charles Forte, Ronnie Griffin, Kyle McClain, Adam Moore, Matt Moore and Chris Forte served as honorary pallbearers. Special selections played at the service were: "Remember When," "How Great Thou Art" and "The Twelfth of Never." The family received friends Saturday May 6, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Springhead Baptist Church prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the South Georgia Medical Center Dasher Heart Center in Valdosta, Georgia.
