Mr. Rudean "Rudy" Rice, 83, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta.  He was born on January 30, 1935 in Cook County to the late Ward Elexander Rice and Clarcia Viola Rowan Rice.  Mr. Rice was of the Primitive Baptist Faith and a  lifelong resident of Cook County where he worked as a farmer and was a retired aircraft mechanic and machinist.  He served honorably with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Rice is survived by a son and his friend, James E. Rice and Stephanie H. Jackson, both of Adel; a granddaughter and her husband: Tiffany and Kyle Hand of Adel; a grandson and his fiancee, Adam Rice and Brooke Hinson, both of Adel; two great-grandchildren: Brice Hand and Braden Hand of Adel; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Joe W. and Betty Rice of Charlottesville, Virginia, Jim O. and Bea Rice of Austell, Georgia, Herbert W. and Geri Rice of Fayetteville, Georgia; a sister and brother-in-law, Nelda and Lloyd Tribble of Adel; and a very special friend, Betty Goff of Lenox, Georgia.  He was preceded in death by a son, William E. Rice.

The family received friends Thursday evening, September 27, 2018 from 5:30 until 7:00 PM at Boone Funeral Home South, 1804 S. Hutchinson Avenue in Adel.  The funeral service took place in the chapel of the funeral home at 7:00 PM on Thursday immediately following the visitation with Rev. James Rice officiating.  A private interment will take place at a later date at Antioch Church Cemetery.  Special musical selections played at the service were "I Want to Stroll Over Heaver With You," "When We All Get to Heaven," "Amazing Grace" and "Precious Memories."  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com .
