Mrs. Sarah Finley Thompson, 76, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on August 11, 2021 at the Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.  She was born on February 7, 1945 in Hahira, Georgia to the late Simmey Fensden Bland and Sarah Jeannette Fulwood Bland.  Mrs. Thompson lived most of her life in Cook County and was a homemaker. S he was a member of the Adel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Guthrie of Adel; her grandchildren: R. J. Brinson; Chakara Brinson and P. J. Pittman, all of Adel, Coty and Holly Thomas of Chula, Georgia, Kara and Brady Wade of Poulan, Georgia, Jacob Guthrie of Hahira, Georgia and Tommy Guthrie of Adel; great grandchildren: Jaylen Rentz and McKylee Rentz of Adel, Anthony Pittman of Lilburn, Georgia, Liam Brinson of Macon, Georgia, Greyson Brinson of Ellenton, Georgia, Hayden Wade of Poulan and Chloe Guthrie of Hahira; one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Dawn Bland of Clemmons, North Carolina; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Charlotte Reames, Sue and Bobby Gilpin, all of Clarksville, Tennessee.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Thompson; one brother, Danny Bland; son-in-law, Tony Guthrie; and her best friend, Charlie Bunn.

A graveside service was conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel with Rev. Coty Thomas officiating. Interment followed.  Timmy Guthrie, Aaron Guthrie, Ronnie Guthrie, Beau Guthrie, Gentry Windner and Curtis Strickland served as active pallbearers; Coty Thomas and P.J. Pittman served as honorary pallbearers.  Special music played at the service included Elvis Presley's "One Pair of Hands" and Anne Murray's rendition of "In the Garden."
