Mrs. Shirley Stripling Adams, 85 of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, formerly of Adel, Georgia passed away on March 12, 2025 at the Heart of Hospice Palliative Care in Ft. Smith.  Mrs. Adams was born on November 9, 1939 in Cook County to the late George Washington "G.W." Stripling, Jr. and the late Gwendolyn Godfrey Stripling.  She lived most of her life in Cook County and the past twelve years in Ft. Smith with her daughter.  Mrs. Adams was a member of the Springhead Baptist Church and was also the retired owner and operator, along with her husband, of the Adel Shoe Shop.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Leslee Adams of Adel; her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Tim White of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Shelley and Stuart Stone of Nashville, Georgia, Justin and Brittany White of Ft. Smith, Lindsey Buergler and Alley Buergler, both of Ft. Smith; seven great grandchildren: Kylee Hughes, Kailyn Hughes, Andrew Stone of Nashville, Georgia; Jaxdon Heidelberg, Lucas Heidelberg, Kolbie Heidelberg, Tydus White and baby White; and one brother, Dwain Stripling of Adel.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Frank "Hoss" Adams, and her brother, Russell Eugene Stripling.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 17, 2025 in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Taylor officiating.  Interment will follow at Folsom Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Boone Funeral Home (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., Adel, Georgia) on Monday prior to the funeral service.  Justin White, Stuart Stone, Carson Rice, Lucas Heidelberg, Jaxdon Heidelberg and Jerry Permenter will serve as pallbearers.  "Amazing Grace" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain" will be played at the service.
