Mrs. Stacey Shierling McDowell, 43, of Adel, Georgia passed away December 6, 2014 following a long illness. She was born July 21, 1971 in Adel to Bobby and Paula Bennett Shierling. Mrs. McDowell lived all of her life in Cook County. She was a member of the New Life Baptist Church and an Adminstrative Secretary for the Program for Exceptional Children with the Cook County Board of Education.

Mrs. McDowell is survived by her husband, Scott McDowell; two sons, Ty McDowell and Zane McDowell; her parents, Bobby and Paula Bennett Shierling; brother and sister-in-law, Clay and Rhonda Shierling, all of Adel; nephews and nieces: Lane Shierling, Jaxson Shierling, both of Adel; Jenna Brady, Leanna and Josh Southerland, all of Sparks, Georgia; uncle and aunt, J.G and Debra Bennett of Adel; aunt and uncle, B. J. and Zippy Vonier of Thomasville, Georgia; her mother-in-law, Barbara Morrow of Valdosta, Georgia; also several cousins. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Mac McDowell.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 8, 2014 at the New Life Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Duncan, Rev. Tommy Bussey, and Rev. David Gordon officiating. Interment will follow at the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery near Cecil, Georgia. Heath Sellers, John Brisk, Clint Carnine, Tom Broome, Walter Cowart, and Kevin Vonier will serve as pallbearers; Stacey's co-workers will serve as honorary pallbearers. Wayne and Mary Nell Boyette and Lori Carnine will sing "It Is Well" and Mrs. Carnine will also play the piano. Visitation was held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave.; Adel, Georgia.
