Mr. Steve G. Cowart, 57, of Adel, Georgia, passed away at his family's beach home in Fernandina Beach, Florida, on December 11, 2019. The son of Leon Glyn Cowart and Naomi Forte Cowart, he was born in Adel, grew up in Lowndes County and lived the last 30 years in Decatur, Georgia. Mr. Cowart was a Christian and was a retired program analyst for AT&T.

Mr. Cowart is survived by his mother, Naomi Forte Cowart of Adel; a sister and brother-in-law, Candy and Mark Stevens of Winder, Georgia; a niece and her husband, Cecelia and Curtis Thornton of Italy; a nephew, Justin Stevens of Roswell, Georgia. A host of aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Glyn Cowart.

A graveside service was held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 13, 2019, at Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel with Elder Thad Marshall officiating. The family received friends at Boone Funeral Home South on the day of the service from 10:00 until 10:45 AM.
