Obituary

Mr. Steve H. Drawdy, 65, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on April 8, 2020 in Gainesville, Florida at the North Florida South Georgia Veterans Health System Gainesville Division.  He was born in Adel on February 2, 1955 but spent most of his youth in Virginia Beach, Virginia before returning to Adel later.  Mr. Drawdy was the son of Howard Elmer Drawdy and Geneva Parker Drawdy.  He was a Baptist.  Mr. Drawdy worked for himself in construction and was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served with the U.S. Navy Sea Bees.

Mr. Drawdy is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Drawdy, and son, Steven Drawdy, both of Adel; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Janet and Jerry Smith of Hahira, Georgia; Wanda and Mike Hollifield of Sparks, Georgia; and Teresa and Roy Nave of Adel; an aunt, Melba Daniel of Lenox, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Poulos.

Due to the COVID-19 protocol, a private graveside service was held for Mr. Drawdy on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Pinegrove Church Cemetery in Berrien County with Dr. Danny Ray officiating.  Jerry Smith, Michael Hollifield, Brad Smith, Nathan Hollifield, Justin Beach and Roy Nave served as pallbearers.  Special musical selections included "Go Rest High on That Mountain" and "Spirit in the Sky."  In lieu of flowers, it is requested that honorariums be made to help his children and those may be sent in care of Janet Smith, 8480 Vickers Road, Hahira, GA 31632).
