Mrs. Sue Godwin, 71, of Lenox, Georgia passed away on December 22, 2025 at the Tift Regional Medical Center.  Mrs. Godwin was born on October 14, 1954  in Tifton, Georgia to the late Lott Troutman Warren and Mary Jane Vaughn Warren.  She lived most of her life in Cook County and was a retired editorial assistant with the Progressive Farmer magazine.  In later years she worked for the Cook County Board of Education as a paraprofessional.

Mrs. Godwin is survived by her husband, William Herman "Billy" Godwin, Jr. of Lenox; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Lisa Godwin of Memphis, Tennessee; daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Bud Watson of Valdosta, Georgia; five grandchildren: John Mark, Luke and Lana Godwin, all of Memphis; Kate and Will Watson, both of Valdosta; two sisters, Alice Darley of Macon, Georgia and Faye Richards of Gainesville, Georgia.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 26, 2025 at the Lenox Baptist Church with an eulogy provided by Mr. Guy Haynes.  Interment will follow at the Lenox City Cemetery.  Visitation will take place from 10:00 to11:00 AM at the church prior to the funeral service.
