Mrs. Sylvia Brady Bryan, 69, of Sparks, Georgia, passed away Friday April 29, 2016 at her home. She was born November 7, 1946 in Cecil, Georgia to her late parents, Leon and Mollie Phelps Brady. She was a retired paraprofessional with Cook Middle School and a member of New Life Baptist Church. She was a lifelong resident of Cook County.
Mrs. Bryan is survived by her husband of almost fifty-two years, Jack Dempsey Bryan of Sparks; two sons and a daughter-in-law: David and Tina Bryan of Cecil, Jonathan Bryan of Sparks; two daughters and sons-in-law: Teresa and Kevin Giles of Adel, Georgia, Melissa and Tony Harrison of Sparks; six grandchildren: Audrey Whittle of Adel, Seth Harrison and Caleb Harrison of Sparks, Jacob Bryan, Brandon Bryan and Jonah Bryan of Cecil; and two brothers: Bobby Brady of Adel and Billy Gene Brady of Hahira, Georgia. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Leon Brady.
The Bryan family received friends, Saturday April 30, 2016 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel). The funeral service took place Sunday May 1, 2016 at 2 PM at New Life Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Duncan, Rev. Warren Chesser and Rev. Terry Reagin officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel. Sandra Green and Lori Carnine played piano, Wayne and Mary Nell Boyette sang "It Is Well" and the members of New Life Church Choir and Massee Baptist Church Choir sang "In Moments Like These", "I'm Feelin' Mighty Fine" and "In His Presence". Active pallbearers were: Chris Wiggins, Stacey Edwards, Curtis Haag, Tracy Herring, George Griffin and Toby Dorminey. Honorary pallbearers were Gene Huffstuttler, William Huffstuttler, Doug Ratts, Phil Merwin, Bobby Morrelli, Lewis Strickland, Lloyd Tribble, Jackie Raley, Jerry Joiner, members of Pruitt Health Hospice and the 60's Sunday School Class.
