Mrs. Thelma A. Trent, 87, of Lenox, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, February 10 , 2021 at Tift Regional Medical Center.  She was born in Adel, Georgia to Benjamin S. Hicks and Ida Mae Mathis Hicks.  She lived her entire life in Georgia and the past 25 years in Lenox.  Mrs. Trent was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was retired from DeKalb County School System, where she worked as a cafeteria manager.

Mrs. Trent was married for 63 years to Edward B. Trent, who passed away December 26 , 2017.  She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Paulette Trent of Alpharetta, Georgia; three daughters, a daughter-in-law and a son-in-law: Vallerie Trent and Amy Waggoner of Decatur, Georgia, Melissa and Andy Kingery of Kennesaw, Georgia and Suzanne Creach of Lenox, Georgia; six grandchildren: Ted Trent of Dallas, Georgia, Amanda Trent and Tim Trent, both of Alpharetta, Georgia, Alex Kingery (Bridgette) of Rossville, Georgia, Abi Kingery of Woodstock, Georgia and Cody Creach of Lenox, Georgia.

The funeral service for Mrs. Trent was held on Saturday, February 13 , 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral South (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel) with Bro. Mike Barber officiating.  Friends paid their respects at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.  There was no graveside service, but interment at Staunton Cemetery in Lenox immediately followed the funeral service.  Brad Trent, Ted Trent, Tim Trent, Alex Kingery, Cody Creach and Dwain Creach served as pallbearers.  Special music played at the service included "Blessed Assurance" and "How Great Thou Art."  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com . -- Boone Funeral Home of Adel has been entrusted with all arrangements for Mrs. Trent.
