Thomas Bartley "Bullfrog"
Bryan
Mar 7, 1949 — Sep 9, 2026
Adel, Georgia
Thomas Bartley "Bullfrog" Bryan passed away on September 9, 2026 at Colquitt Regional Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He chose to meet Jesus on his own terms as he lived his life. He had us laughing. We sang songs and prayed as he left this world to walk the streets of gold.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Betty Sue Bryan and his brother, Donnie Bryan (Phyllis). He is survived by his brother, Darrell (Karen) and Troy (Delores). He left to celebrate his wife of 55 years, Ann Bryan, two sons Jason (Amy) and Joshua (Joanna), five grandchildren, Zachary (Alyssa), Jacob (Madison), Christopher (Emma), Alexandria and Ted. All have stories to tell about his generosity, warped sense of humor, and mostly the love he showed to all.
Tom graduated from Cook High School in 1967, joined the United States Marine Corps and served four years including a year in Viet Nam where he was the "rear with the beer and gear". The USMC was a great source of pride and influenced his entire life. After separating from the military, Tom earned a BA from VSC, later a masters and a specialist degree. He taught third grade, became a well loved principal, and retired as director of Federal Funds and special programs. Many, many students and teachers remember him fondly. A long time member of the Adel United Methodist Church, Tom served in many capacities including the Men's Group and he was Lay Leader for 10 1/2 years, taught Sunday School and Bible Study, and he was a true servant of the Lord.
A memorial service was held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the Adel Wesleyan Church with Dr. Robert Wood and Rev. Doug Tolson officiating; eulogies were given by his son, Jason Bryan and daughter-in-law, Joanna Bryan as well as grandchildren Allie Bryan, Zach Bryan, Jack Bryan and Chris Bryan. Cindy Williams played piano before and after the service, Jeff Thibodeau played "Amazing Grace" on bagpipes, Zach Bryan and Becky Futch sang "Why Me Lord" and Jacob Fortner played "Taps" during the presentation of the American flag. Visitation began at 2:00 and the service was held at 3:00 PM. In keeping with Tom's wishes he was cremated. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cook County Educational Foundation, 37 Josey Road, Adel, Georgia 31620, for a scholarship in his name.
