Mr. Thomas D. "T.D." Padgett, Jr., 90, of Tifton, Georgia, passed away April 23, 2016 at Cook Senior Living Center in Adel, Georgia. He was born March 15, 1926 in Tift County to his late parents, Thomas David Padgett, Sr. and Rosalie Oma Goss Padgett. He was a member of New River Baptist Church in Tifton, a retired carpenter and also served in the United States Navy. Mr. Padgett lived most of his life in Tift and Cook Counties.

Mr. Padgett is survived his wife, Annie Ruth Lane Padgett of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Patricia Padgett of Chaserville, Georgia, Tony and Shirley Padgett of Adel; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Olen, Oris and Charles L. "C.L." Padgett; and a sister, Ora Pettigrew.

A graveside funeral service for Mr. Padgett will be held Wednesday April 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Sparks City Cemetery with Rev. Charles Blair officiating. The family will receive friends at Boone Funeral Home (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel) one hour prior to the graveside service.
