Mr. Thomas L. "Tommy" Connell, 68, of Sparks, Georgia, passed away September 30, 2015 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton. He was born February 11, 1947 in Lake City, Tennessee to his late parents, Barney Lovett Connell and Geneva Marie Smith Connell. He lived most of his life in Cook County where was a Baptist and the owner of Connell Sheet Metal.

Mr. Connell is survived by his wife, Terry Powers Connell of Sparks; a son, Blake Connell of Valdosta, Georgia; a daughter and son-in-law, Leigh Ann and Paul Boan of Gainesville, Florida; three grandchildren: Aiden Connell of Baxley, Georgia, Hudson Connell Ellis and Kyle Boan, both of Gainesville; and a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Steve Metheney of Powell, Tennessee.

The family received friends Friday evening October 2, 2015 from 6 until 9 PM at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel. The funeral service took place Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. A.D. Connell officiating. Interment followed at New Life Church Cemetery in Cook County. Stan McDaniel, Billy Welch, Devin Young, Brent Wynn, Maurice Inman, James Woods, Ray Hunt, Rob Sylvester and Jason Nolan served as active pallbearers; Charles Connell, Johnny Connell, Winston Carroll, Roger McDaniel, Roger Brown, Phillip Connell, Russell Brown, Houston Brown and Cary Connell, Jr. served as honorary pallbearers. Charles Connell sang "Go Rest High on that Mountain", "Beulah Land" and "Silver Haired Daddy".
