Obituary

Mr. Walt H. Hales, 62, of Sparks, Georgia, passed away September 17, 2019 at the Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Georgia.  Mr. Hales was born November 13, 1956 in Cottage Grove, Oregon to the late Perry and Jean Eleanor Stalder Hales.  He was retired from Waffle House after more than 30 years of service and dedication.  Mr. Hales served honorably in the United States Air Force.

Mr. Hales is survived by his wife, Tina Mixon Hales of Sparks; three daughters and one son-in-law, Tia King and fiance', Lee Davis of Sparks; Morgan Hales and fiance', Ector Reza of Nashville, Georgia; Payj and Jeremie Tucker of Adel, Georgia; son, Cody Folsom and fiancee' Amy Walker of Adel; nine grandchildren: Adriana King, Clay King, Brantlee Davis all of Sparks; Kylee Mock, Karlee Mock, Justin Mock all of Ocala, Florida and Emma Reza of Nashville, Georgia; Kailey Folsom and Brayden Walker both of Adel.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home.  Rev. Jimmie Hinson officiated with eulogies given by Mr. Mark Perry and Mrs. Payj Tucker.  Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery Annex.  Chad Hardy, Caleb Harnage, Josh Merritt, Cass Boatner, Keith Jenkins and Eddy Kalinowski served as active pallbearers; fellow Waffle House employees served as honorary pallbearers.  "Threaten Me With Heaven," You Can Let Go Now Daddy," "I Call It Home," "He Didn't Have To Be" and "When a Tear Becomes a Rose" were special musical tributes played at the service.  Visitation was held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the funeral home.
