Mr. Dickerson is survived by his wife, Charlotte Nipper Dickerson of Adel; a son, Thomas Dickerson, Jr. of Adel; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Scotty Williams of Hahira, Georgia; two granddaughters, Kalee and Carly Williams, both of Hahira; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Audrey Dickerson of Adel; a sister, Karen Faircloth of Adel; a special cousin, James B. Cobb of Palm Springs, California; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The Dickerson family received friends Sunday evening June 1, 2014 from 6 until 8 pm at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel. The funeral service took place Monday June 2, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Adel First Assembly of God with Rev. Eric Gordon and Rev. Gary James officiating; a special poem written by Mr. Dickerson's granddaughter, Carly Williams, was also read. Interment followed at Woodlawn City Cemetery. Jeff Bullard, Jerred Bullard, Jody Bullard, Jeff Lunsford, Arthur Paige, and Jimmy Fulp served as active pallbearers; Henry Futch, W.F. Taylor, Robbie Davis, Kirk Gordon, William Davis, Harold Spradley, Junior Futch, Tony Gibbs, and Danny Thompson served as honorary pallbearers. Poem tribute to PaPa written by Kaylee Williams and Carly Williams. Paige Gordon, Ashley Mainor, Brittany Mainor, and Tyler Quick sang "Home" with Tyler Quick also accompanying on guitar; other special selections played at the service were "Lead Me Home," "Glory Land," and "God Has Been Good to Me."
