Mr. William Daniel "Billy" Cannington, 84 of Adel, Georgia passed away June 28, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Cannington was born September 30, 1930 in Cook County to the late James Allen Cannington and Lola Bell Touchton Cannington. He was of the Baptist Faith and was the retired owner of Cannington Daycare Center. He served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Cannington is survived by his wife Phyllis Castleberry Cannington of Adel; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Billy Rhoads of Gretna, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law, William D, Jr. and Carol Cannington of Moultrie, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Kim Cannington of Adel; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and David Hammer of Windermere, Florida; son, Col. Tom W. Cannington of Cleveland, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law: Krista N. and Shane Rill of Adel; two brothers: J. B. Cannington of Valdosta, Georgia and Fred Cannington of Buford, Georgia; one sister, Louise Roberson of Jonesboro, Georgia; 15 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Aubrey Cannington, Gordon Cannington and Walter Brown Cannington; three sisters: Odessa Flowers, Eula Mae Scott and Flora Davidson.

A Celebration of Life was held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 29, 2014 at the Woodlawn Cemetery Annex with Rev. Julian Griner officiating. Entombment followed in the Mausoleum.
