William Douglas Cowart , lovingly known as Doug to his family and friends, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on September 6, 2026, surrounded by the family who meant everything to him.
Doug was a loving and devoted husband and father who always showed a true dedication to his family. He was always looking out for people he loved, often worrying about everyone else before himself. He had an unwavering faith in God, and was steadfast in that faith until the end.

He is also survived by his wife's family; her mom, Betty Woodward; her brothers, Zachary Lammons, Matthew Woodward, David Woodward and wife Jessica Woodward; her sisters. Zoe Simmons and husband Devin Simmons, Clarissa Dancer, Kathy Welch and husband Jim Welch.
Doug's life touched many people in ways that will never be forgotten. He will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his generous heart, his determination, and his ability to make everyone around him feel like a friend. His love and care for others were a constant part of who he was.
Although his passing leaves an immeasurable void, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and always loved.
Rest peacefully, Doug. You were loved beyond words, and your memory will live on in all of us.
