Mrs. Winifred A. Christner, age 87, of Lakeland, Georgia, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Pruitt Healthcare in Valdosta.

Born in Willacoochee, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Henry Madison Sirmans and Mary Elizabeth Carter Selby.  Mrs. Christner lived in many places over her life including, Virginia, California, and Jacksonville, Florida.  She was a retired caregiver and attended Day Springs Church in Jacksonville, Florida.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Christner; a grandson, Jason Christner; a brother, Brenton L. Sirmans, and a sister, Anna Belle McCain.

Survivors include one son, Richard Christner of Jacksonville, Florida; a daughter; Jeanne Taylor of Salem, Oregon; two nieces: Mary Anna (Hank) Mathis of Lakeland and Laura Lee Moran of Florence, Alabama; two nephews: Marcus Hale (Carmen) McCain of Madrid, Spain, and Larry (Ruth) McCain of Jennings, Florida.

In keeping with her wishes she was cremated.  Memorial Services will be announced at a later date.
